Interpol Issues Red Notice for Hex Founder Richard Schueler

Richard Schueler, also known as Richard Heart, has been issued a ‘Red Notice’ by Interpol, the world’s largest international police organization. The notice is in response to allegations that Schueler committed tax fraud and assault.

What is a Red Notice?

A Red Notice is a global request for law enforcement to locate and provisionally arrest a person. In this case, Finnish authorities are seeking Schueler’s arrest. However, it’s essential to note that a Red Notice is not an international arrest warrant.

The Allegations

Schueler was listed on Europe’s most wanted fugitives list, where the same allegations were detailed. It alleged that Schueler physically assaulted a 16-year-old victim by grabbing their hair, dragging them into the stairwell, and knocking them to the ground. This remand order was issued for Schueler three months ago.

Tax Evasion Allegations

Heart is suspected of tax evasion between June 2, 2020, and April 2, 2024. The Red Notice comes just three months after a remand order was initially issued for Schueler on September 13, according to Finnish public broadcaster Yle.

Social Media Comments

Schueler has yet to comment publicly on the Red Notice. However, he has remained active on social media and made comments that appear to allude to the matter. ‘If the haters really wanted to get me down, they could raise more than the $27M I did for medical research,’ Schueler said in a December 21 Xpost.

SEC Lawsuit

Schueler remains at the center of an SEC lawsuit over alleged unregistered offerings of three crypto tokens: Hex, PulseChain (PLS), and PulseX (PSLX). The SEC claimed Heart had raised more than $1 billion through ‘the unregistered offer and sale of crypto asset securities.’ According to the complaint, Heart touted the tokens ‘as a pathway to grandiose wealth for investors.’

Request to Dismiss

On August 22, Heart requested to dismiss the $1 billion lawsuit but the Securities and Exchange Commission pushed back, arguing it has the full authority to bring the case to Heart.

Additional Developments

  • On September 18, Cointelegraph reported that Helsinki police detective Harri Saaristola told Yle that Heart’s income reporting did not match the tax service’s estimates.
  • Schueler is still active on social media and has made comments that appear to allude to the matter.

Conclusion

The Red Notice issued by Interpol marks a significant development in the case against Richard Schueler. With allegations of tax fraud and assault, as well as an ongoing SEC lawsuit, Schueler’s future remains uncertain. As the situation continues to unfold, it will be interesting to see how Schueler responds to the allegations and whether he will face consequences for his actions.
